Once the capital of the Pomarj while the region was controlled by humans, Stoneheim has become a great center of dwarven civilization. An impressive city, both above and below ground, it was conquered by the dwarves in CY 530 after the an army of goblins and orcs drove out the human population.
Visitors to the city are first met by a mighty stone wall circling the city and an open gate guarded by stout dwarves. Within the walls the city is comprised by stone buildings circling the central feature: the mine entrance. Deep beneath the surface of the earth is a labyrinthine mine designed with a large scale. One might think the dwarves were overcompensating.
